PREMIERE: NYC's Prince Rama Declare "Now Is the Time of Emotion"

With emoji literacy at an all-time high, it feels like an appropriate time for NYC electro-pop duo Prince Rama to declare it "The Time of Emotion." This lazer-laden single follows the news of a forthcoming album from neo-classical noisemakers Taraka and Nimai Larson, the women behind the moniker. Discovered by Avey Tare of Animal Collective at a Texas dive bar, the sisters Larson make a psych-tinged strain of dance pop self-described as "now age." The prolific sibling team have released six albums over their four year career, and soon they'll be releasing their seventh. Xtreme Now will be available for purchase on March 4 via Carpark Records. We spoke breifly with Taraka Larson about the making of the single:

"'Now Is The Time of Emotion' has the feel of 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' meets Devo under the bleachers in the high school gymnasium, with searing electric guitars that make it feel like the entire pep rally has caught fire, rapidly exploding into the ultimate teenage sexual catharsis while alien cheerleaders continue to chime the infectious chorus hook well into the afterlife."
