Back in February HBO premiered their new Martin Scorcese / Mick Jagger produced series Vinyl—a show all about the wild shit that went down in NYC in the music industry in the early 70s. Off the back of that we got all excited about the 70s and wrote a bunch of articles picking apart the music, fashion, and culture of the time. Like how punk continues to infect every form of art even now. Or the history of the leather jacket. Or how Martin Scorsese uses rock and punk music throughout his career. More recently The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas released his cover of The Velvet Underground's "Run Run Run" and it was legit awesome, which brings us to Brit rockers Royal Blood's latest track, premiering below. The duo saw the trailer for Vinyl and wrote "Where Are You Now," a swaggery, stompy cut anchored in fuzzed up, muscular riffs destined to find favor with fans of Iggy Pop and Queens of the Stone Age alike.Plus it contains the line: "I've tasted every person and they don't taste like you," which we're very down with."Hearing Richie Finestra talk about the first time you heard a song that made your hairs on the back of your neck stand up or made you wanna dance or kick someone's arse," explains Mike Kerr regarding the conception of this tune. "I just wanted to write a song that gave me that sort of buzz."The song is lifted from this week’s upcoming episode the Vinyl soundtrack Volume 1.8.
