Put Your Head Through a Wall to Pinecones' New Track "Cosmosis"

This band basically sounds like if you broke down every single Parquet Courts song, picked out the good bits, and threw away the rest.

Meet a little band from Georgia called Pinecones. This band basically sounds like if you broke down every single Parquet Courts song, picked out the good bits, and threw away the rest. It's music that is too melodic for punk conventions, and walks the line of hardcore with shouted vocals. According to them, "It’s music that sounds angry, but hopeful—aggressively positive." What else could you really want in music?

Although it seems that this band virtually came out of nowhere, the members have been in the game for quite some time. You may recognize guitarist and singer Bo Orr from grindcore trio Dead in the Dirt, or guitarist Brain Atoms from minimalist punk outfit Crater. You can tell these dudes have been playing for a long, long time together. Their sound is tight, hard-hitting, and perfectly repetetive. Noisey is premiering their new track below, "Cosmosis," from their upcoming record Sings For You Now, out April 15, which you can pre-order now. Warning: you won't want this song to end, ever.
