PREMIERE: Listen to XYLØ's New Tune "BLK CLD"

The brother-sister duo's songs have clocked millions of plays on Soundcloud and now they return with this newie which sounds like Lorde pining after a Roland Juno-106.

Sooooo. XYLØ really don't like vowels. Wait, is Ø a vowel? We jest, we jest, but c'mon, their latest track is called "BLK CLD"! Even if you think you don't know sister and brother duo, Paige and Chase Duddy, if you lurk online seeking out melancholic synth-pop then you've heard songs like "America" and "Afterlife" which come off like Lorde with a serious crush on a Roland Juno-106. Between those two songs alone they've clocked over 2.5 million plays on Soundcloud (it also helped that "America" snagged a sync for an online PacSun commercial starring Kendall and Kylie Jenner).

Last summer we premiered "Between the Devil & the Deep Blue Sea," a similarly synthy slick of a tune and below is the latest offering from the siblings—who have a ten year age difference between them. Not to be confused with the other most excellent song "Black Cloud" Mozart Parties, the Westlake, Cali band's "BLK CLD" subtracts the vowels and adds a supine sexiness to a song about the lurking sadness in us all.

"BLK CLD is a metaphor for depression," explain the duo. "We tried to bring light to something that so often leaves us in the dark."

Nevertheless, this is no slash-your-wrists ballad. Like all the best songs, hearing it makes you feel a little bit better, no matter the weather.
