Premiere: Did Silly Joel and the Candymen Just Drop the Greatest Line in Australian Hip Hop?

Get ready for some beef between Kerser and this Keswick crew.

Straight outta Keswick, Silly Joel, Fred Soque and Rob Feelins, are staunch vanguards for decency and quality in Australian hip hop.

They came up with the line "Australian hip hop you owe me / and Bliss n Eso can blow me" but Rob Feelins flips the switch on their new track "Dr. Seuss" when he spits

"Show me a commercial Australian rapper and I'll show you a retarded dick slapper". That sound you heard was the entire audience of the triple j Hip Hop Show letting out a collective "WTF!?"

The video for the track, shot and produced by Fred Soque (who also produced the track) has Silly Joel busting out rapid-fire delivery as he passes around a bottle of Sparkling Shiraz; Soque gets his head shaved while referencing Bic pens leaking on Ben Sherman suits while Feelins just speaks the truth.

NOISEY: Are you guys trying to create a Twitter war with 360 and Seth Sentry?

Fred Soque: I don't speak for the Thief but people in Australia don't think creatively in hip hop and artists take advantage of the fact that the country doesn't know any better. The artists and labels are to blame and should be held accountable for the state of the game. It's science.

The production is quite simple and hints to the golden era of mid '90s East Coast hip hop when the emphasis seemed to be on lyrics.

It all starts with the drum, then comes the loops, the medicine, then technology, then the rhymes, then the internet, then the songs. In that order. There must be no ego involved when you're coming together as a team to do something good.

Was it distracting getting filmed rhyming while having your head shaved?

I could rap underwater with a mouth full of fish.

The video portrays the Cat in the Hat as a bit creepy/odd.

What's meant for one in time will be meant for the rest of them.

The 'Dr. Seuss/La Quondy 7' will be released soon on Bedroom Suck records.
