A Dead Guitarist Won't Stop Bleached in the New Video for "Wednesday Night Melody"

The show must go on.

Man, don't you hate it when your bandmate dies right before a big gig? That's the conundrum LA outfit Bleached find themselves in in the new video for "Wednesday Night Melody," the second single off of their forthcoming release Welcome the Worms.

Like the band itself, the video tackles objectively unpleasant subject matter with cheeky panache, transforming it into a scuzzed-out garage pop ride.

"Drag your needle on the groove today / and waste away," sisters Jennifer and Jessie Clavin sing as they cope with discovering the former's corpse when they stop to pick her up en route to a gig. (Pro tip: Sudden death ain't nothing a little makeup and strategically placed rope can't fix.)

Welcome the Worms, produced by Joe Chiccarelli (Morrissey, The Strokes, Spoon), is out April 1 on Dead Oceans. Watch the premiere of "Wednesday Night Melody" below.
