PREMIERE: Unwind from a Stressful Day with a New Song from UK Doom Duo Pombagira

Sink into a fuzzy new track from the pair's upcoming album.

Are you having a stressful day out there, dear reader? Did you burn your toast, spill your coffee, bump into someone very large (or very small) on your morning commute? Is your other half in a bad mood? Did your cat piss on the couch again? Did Buzzfeed break your heart by allowing you to discover that you are not, in fact, the Left Shark?

No matter what's troubling you, I promise that taking a quick listen to this new tune from UK doom unit Pombagira will help. The married duo's been knocking around London for a good while, not too far from where Ramesse, Bong, and Electric Wizard tread. Now, they're readying for the release of a new full-length, Flesh Throne Press, which was recorded using a literal mountain of amplifiers. One could toss the terms "progressive" and "psychedelic" at them thanks to the prodigious length of their riffs, their heady love affair with the delay pedal, drummer Carolyn's lackadaisical beats, and the overall air of stoned introspection, but Pombagira's intentions harken back to their darker doom roots: this new record focuses entirely on death, drawing from guitarist and vocalist Peter Hamilton-Giles’ soon-to-be-published occult book Grimoire of the Baron Citadel.

You'd never know it without eyeballing the lyrics, though. The track we're streaming below, "Endless" is chill incarnate; get lost in the endless groove and windswept wails, and let those fuzzy, distorted riffs knead the folds of your brain into putty.

Flesh Throne Press is out via Svart Records on March 27th. Kim Kelly is on a doom kick today; follow her on Twitter - @grimkim
