P. Morris Tells Us Two Truths and a Lie

"In the past, I have performed drag under the name Glam'ron."

P. Morris is gearing up to release a new EP, Beloved. Thus far he’s made a big impact behind the boards, producing for the likes of Le1f and Kelela. Now the Kansas City producer is stepping into the spotlight in a major way. Last week he dropped a song off the upcoming project, “Before You Disappear.” It skirts the line between ambient mood music and an upfront dance track: complex drum patterns and scattershot synth patterns unfold against the backdrop of oceanic vocals and distant synth movements.

Impressed, we asked the producer to contribute to our Two Truths and a Lie series. Anyone this accomplished at making music is going to be equally capable of crafting convincing lies, so don’t expect this to be easy. We guessed wrong the first time and we’re supposed to be good at this, because we’re in the music industry and everyone’s always lying to us. They might as well call it the lying industry. What happened to real hip-hop, anyway?

Beloved drops on October 28th: pre-order it here.

P. Morris' lie is #3. Drag queens, start your engines: Glam'ron remains a name up for the taking.
