Blonde Elvis' New Track Is a Doo-Wop Psych Glam Concoction

"Oh Mary" is the type of song that I would like to dance to at prom in a 50s swing dress, while wearing lace frilled socks underneath some saddle shoes.

If you have ever wondered what doo-wop and psych rock would sound like when mashed together, then you're in luck. Meet Toronto-based Blonde Elvis, who blend the two genres into a giant glam rock concotion. Blonde Elvis lead dude Jesse James Laderoute began to transform his bedroom demos into blooming pop songs during the summer of last year, in order to create the band's new EP titled On Vanity, out in May via Pleasence Records. We're premiering the EP's lead single titled "Oh Mary" below, which is the type of song that I would like to dance to at prom in a 50s swing dress, while wearing lace frilled socks underneath some saddle shoes. The track gives serious nod to the era of doo-wop with it's simple beat, and is layered with a psych-glam rock finish that will make you hit the replay button.
