The New Obliterations Video "Scapegoat" Reminds Us About the Oppressive 50s

Prepare for missile crises with nuclear riffing.

Do you ever think how much your life would be different if you were a teen or young person growing up in 1950s suburban America? If you had to hop in a time machine to back then, you probably wouldn't find many reasons to wake up in the morning. And why would you? Every comfort or idea of expression you probably have now would be replaced by cold, shitty oppression and you would be as memorable as the next kid named Skip. One of the worst aspects of these times was the really fun propaghanda being forced onto students to consume in the form of video guides in class. In a nice reminder, the hardcore band Obliterations made a nice compilation of the horror for their new video "Scapegoat." While some of the more perverse and strange scenes from the instructional videos, Obliterations create a contrast to their ridiculously heavy playing. Maybe hardcore could've stopped the cold war.
