NØMADS is a Brooklyn two piece act that plays technically intense music spanning all types of different genres. The band is following up their last record Free My Animal with a new EP Phobiac, which is totally all about phobias. Today the band is premiering "Traumatophobia," which is the fear of hurting yourself. It correlates with the track, the guitars whirr and buzz into each other in the onset. There's a rising and falling action that fluctuate so frequent it feels more like an ancient car stopping and starting Eventually the car starts up, shaking off all dust and ramping itself up. It's a mesh of different textures in beats showing you the band at different speeds but all done succinctly. While not all of their music is totally instrumental, they nail down exactly what it takes to make it successful. They don't let their musical ability take the center stage, but instead the emotions and shapes they can form with their instruments. There's no reason to be afraid.
