St. Vincent's performance of "Every Tear Disappears" for Most Valid Reason showcases this always-evolving Grammy-winning talent as the indie pop force to be reckoned with that she is. St. Vincent a.k.a. Annie Clark played this swan song at Hostess Club Weekender in Tokyo, in front of five cameras all shooting her at different angles to create an intense and encompassing visual experience.

ST.VINCENT a.k.a. Annie Clark is no doubt one of the most successful artists in recent years. She gained presence with her third album Strange Mercy in 2011, and her collaboration with David Burn “LOVE THIS GIANT” created a buzz that reached out to broader audience, which ultimately distinguished her style as more than just Indie Rock. With her latest album released last year, ST.VINCENT has received a Grammy as well as achieved the level of commercial success that has allowed her to establish a firm reputation within the music industry.

For this episode of MOST VALID REASON, we featured her song “Every Tear Disappears” which was performed at Hostess Club Weekender in Tokyo. The video was filmed in 4K quality, using 5 cameras from different angles to intensify the live experience.

ST. VINCENT - “Every Tear Disappears” [4K] | Most Valid Reason Vol.8 | Sony's Music Video Recorder

The solo music project CARIBOU by Dan Snaith has been constantly changing its sound over the years, and sonically his past albums have almost been equally as colorful as his album covers. In the early years, when he went by the moniker MANITOBA, his music was rather idlyllic, usually falling under genres such as electronica or folktronica. However with his most recent album SWIM, CARIBOU has approached dance music in a new way by incorporating various elements from other genres, including psychedelic-pop, deep-house, techno, Krautrock and so on. It’s almost as if he has some kind of mathematical formula when making music, which as a result has brought him great commercial success.

For this episode of MOST VALID REASON, we present CARIBOU’s performance of “Back Home” at a music festival in Tokyo. This gem is one of the highlights of his latest album OUR LOVE, where his lyrics arouse nostalgia and recalls British New Wave of the 80’s. Be sure not to miss the last part of the video where the beautiful lighting effects are sure to trigger some kind of emotion.
