Mike Watt Of The Minutemen Really Wants You To Listen To MI-GU

Stream "From Space" off of the forthcoming 'Choose The Light.' It's not Marlon Blando.

You might not yet be familiar with MI-GU, but the Japanese psych rock band—comprised of Yuko Araki and Shimmy Shimizu—has already made quite the impression on veteran acts like Yoko Ono (with whom they performed in Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band) and Mike Watt of The Minutemen and Brother's Sister's Daughter, who gave his co-sign on the experimental duo in the form of a homemade infomercial.

Upfront feelings! Not Marlon Blando! It is wake-up-and-wonder! YOU HEARD THE MAN!

MI-GU'S first US release, Choose The Light, comes out October 2nd on Chimera Music, and the band will be in New York to perform in October, so don't miss those dates. In the meantime, feast your ears on the sprawling, intergalactic (and aptly-titled) "From Space" below!

New York tour dates:

Oct 4: Union Pool, Brooklyn (with Nels Cline's Eye Bone)
Oct 12: Bell House, Brooklyn (with Mike Watt's Missing Men)
