Listen to Lucius' Perfectly Plush New Song "Madness"

The Brooklyn-based band tease with the second swoon tune from their forthcoming LP 'Good Grief.'

Lucius by Piper Ferguson

Magical Lucius—whose excellence hinges on the twinned harmonies of co-frontwomen Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig—are releasing a new record this Spring: Good Grief drops March 11 via Mom + Pop. Thus far they've only released one track (and video), "Born Again Teen," but now we have "Madness," which contains a key change (hallelujah!) and an entirely different vibe. It kicks off with rich strings and a strolling verse before knocking the listener sideways with some perfectly plush Fleetwood Mac-meets-early-Heart vibes. Can't wait for this LP to drop, plus the band hit the road this coming March.

The pair had this to say about the track:

“‘Madness' started off as nothing more than a transcript of a dream," explains Holly. "It was one of those vivid nightmares mixed with beautifully-surreal imagery that leaves you waking up thinking 'What the hell do I do with that?' and shaken for days."

Jess continues: "After we spend days brainstormings ways to herd the subconscious into a 'moral of the story,' we discovered that some things need no explanation and looking for one may only drive you mad…"
