A garage-rock blend of 60s soul with 80s angst, creating a new strain of “I’m so sad. Dance with me, mysterious stranger who also looks sad.”

Twin Steps is The Beach Boys and Ariel Pink‘s 16-year-old misunderstood lovechild. Yeah, that teenage baddie who steals his uncle’s Harley and adventures to California to “find himself” after his harlot girlfriend, Ramona, leaves him for his archnemesis, Johnny Q. Or in a more unspecific sense, Twin Steps is a garage-rock band blending 60s soul with 80s angst, creating a new strain of “I’m so sad. Dance with me, mysterious stranger who also looks sad.”
