It can be hard to know what to expect when musicians some of your favorite musicians collaborate in new ways, but in the case of Smartboys, the result does not disappoint. Smartboys is a brand new project composed of Fucked Up members Jonah Falco and Mike Haliechuk, as well as Tim Westberg of U.S. Girls. "Receiving the Bribe"—the lead single off their upcoming two-song release—delivers poppy, guitar-laden verses that build into an anthemic refrain, complemented throughout by Westberg's melodic vocals. Receiving the Bribe/The Wrench of Recollection is out now on LA label White Iris Records.
