Listen to Myrryrs' Exclusive 'Body High' Mix + EP Preview

The latest in heavy club mayhem from our favorite LA dance label, Body High.

Nashville by way of Phoenix, Arizona, hard house by way of techno bass. The admittedly private Myrryrs has been on Body High since the label's inception, and has been making waves since 2011's Idiot House Records imprint, House Theory. His new EP, Southside Horror, is set to release worldwide on May 28 and, in anticipation, we've got nearly 25 minutes of blistering, as-of-yet unheard hard house to whet your appetites.

Whereas last year's I'm a State of Mind EP skirted a woozy 140-bpm two-step, Southside Horror instead boasts a sparse, heavily-sampled four-on-the-floor reminiscent of a "Voodoo Child"-era Moby at his most discordant. Maybe it's the dawn of a new wave in dance music, where the focus returns to the subtleties of the looped sample, rather than the "throw your hands up in the air"-DJ excesses of late. Or maybe, as paraphrased from Body High head honcho Samo Sound Boy, it's just the natural evolution of an artist who finds himself in the desert. Either way, it's got us looking forward to a promising future from Myrryrs.

Stream the full Body High Mix below, and make sure to grab Southside Horror when it debuts on May 28.
