Grunge can be pretty tough to find in the Instagram-filtered shimmering ocean of twee that is Olympia, Washington, but the grime-coated gems that crop up make it well worth the search.
Gun Outfit's new single, "Flyin' Low, Maria," is the crunchy, perfectly-racking response to Olympia's plucky, pukey uke riffs. The foursome brings the noise with influences from Meat Puppets, Dinosaur Jr., and a hint of Hole vocals that bring this track full circle in Northwestern sound. Check out the stream below and keep an ear out for their forthcoming album, Hard Coming Down, dropping April 2nd on PPM Records.
Be sure to check out Gun Outfit as they hit the road with Milk Music and The Men this coming March. Tour dates are below.
