We caught this Houston quintet kicking ass opening for Of Montreal earlier this year and we're stoked to premiere their latest psych-tinged track below. Led by vocalists Zahira Guiterrez, who channels a nice Karen O, and Cody Swann, who brings a little bit of David Bowie to the table, this track is theatrical, funked up, and free-spirited.The band is known for their upbeat, indie-pop tracks, but if “Emergency Broadcast” is any indication of what’s to come on their sophomore record, 88 92, (released on 2/4 via New West Records), Wild Moccasins are heading into some darker territory. Personal turmoil, panic attacks, and toxic friendships serve as the basis for the songs on this forthcoming effort. They're going deep.
