Adjust Your Ski Mask and Dance Like Hell: Here's Leikeli47's "Drums II Clean" Video

Plus, the masked Brooklyn rapper is playing a handful of shows in the months ahead.

Leikeli47's music goes on a tear: It rips up familiar sounds and throws them in the air like confetti, and it rips through any sort of audience calmness with gleeful playfulness. On "Drums II Clean," one of the standouts from her recent self-titled debut, Leikeli47 pokes fun at everyone else's drum setups and then offers her own rebuttal, a screeching, electronic squall with her yelling in her best doomsday voice over it. Basically, other producers are huge nerds. And Leikeli47, who's a little more Malcolm, a little more Martin, a little more Dylan, is the antidote.

To prove that in the song's video, she brings an adorable kid in a flak jacket and (obviously) a ski mask, which has to be—once again, adorably—adjusted at one point. A crowd of fellow ski masked collaborators and some animations from street artist Cheko round things out, and the whole thing becomes a big, ski-masked party that, yes, rips up the familiar and makes it both a little more menacing and a lot more fun.

And now that the stage is set and the music is released for real, Leikeli47 is going on the road this summer, playing, in addition to her previously announced Electric Daisy Carnival dates, a handful of shows across the country. Check out the newly announced dates below, along with the video for "Drums II Clean."

May 26 – New York, NY – Mercury Lounge
May 29 – Atlanta, GA – Aisle 5
