Last Night's D'Angelo/Questlove Concert Reviewed in the Form of a Poem About a Vest I Saw Sean Lennon Wearing There

Everyone else is writing actual reviews so it's fine.

Sean Lennon had a vest on last night at the D'Angelo and Questlove concert at Brooklyn Bowl. It looked really goofy.
Everyone from the media was there last night so I decided to write this poem instead of an actual review.
"Awesome" is a word I would use to describe the D'Angelo and Questlove concert. Awesomely awesome.
No one thought he would show up. But he showed up; just two hours late. So did Sean Lennon (and his vest).

Less a proper concert and more a public jam session,
Each moment felt special. Lots of songs were covers. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have a setlist.
Nevertheless, Sean Lennon's vest was the best. The best vest. The bvest.
No way "the bvest" is a good joke. Sorry.
Or maybe the right joke is "If DJ Khaled and Sean Lennon made an album, it would be called We the Vest Forever."
NEWAYZ, D'angelo was really amazing and part of me feels like the best way to honor his performance is not cover it.

Having been out of the spotlight for so long, there must have been a lot of pressure for D'Angelo to "deliver."
A good way to subvert those expectations was to just jam. So much of D'Angelo's greatness is about vibe, anyway.
Don't forget about the vest, though. It was black, and worn by Sean Lennon.

A vest is a weird item of clothing.

Vests are like shirts without arm things. But they are not tank tops, which are also shirts without arm things.
Every vest has buttons, except for the ones that don't.
Sweatervests. That's what those are called.
Though I'll admit that bulletproof vests also do not have buttons. Maybe lots of vests don't have buttons.

Oh yeah, D'Angelo and Questlove. There was a really big guest list because that's how high profile NYC shows work.
No one thought they should have to wait in the guest list line. I was behind Robert Christgau in line.

A funny thing about that line is that it was so long because everyone is cheap.
They paid for the D'Angelo concert with the loss of their internal body temperature.

D'Aangelo promised that his new album is going to come out. I believe him. He seems happy,
And not as nervous as people have painted him in the past.
Not a single guitar was played by him, only various keyboards and or-
Gans. Sean Lennon and I made eye contact for maybe two seconds, and he realized that I was realized who he was and
Ended our eye contact. Sean Lennon probably gets annoyed with people like me.
LOL, whatever. I wonder how it is having to do Easter Brunch with Yoko Ono. More like YOLO Ono.
Oh man. Sorry for that joke.
