We Asked Lane 8 to Fill Out This Dating Questionnaire

Are you desperately seeking a cat-owning electronicist?

Last month we premiered Lane 8’s video for “Ghosts,” a song misty with nostalgia, longing burned into every laidback groove. As is often the case with electronicists who utilize the singing skills of others, Lane 8—that’s Daniel Goldstein to his granny—remains a somewhat reticent figure, lurking behind his synths and samplers, a man who generally let’s his house-inflected compositions hog the spotlight. And rightly so. Nevertheless we decided to harass him with this OkCupid-cribbed questionnaire to find out more about the man behind the music—and some of his answers are rather surprising; one of his responses made laugh out loud. Here’s another edition of This Modern Love.
