Love Still Sucks but Kairos' Video for "Dirt & Grit" Rules

If this song was an item of clothing it'd be a studded leather jacket covered in painted flowers featuring central portrait of Malificent and Ursula.

Directed by Zoe Rain and Jake Magraw.

Man, we have such a boner for this song. Kind of gross to lay it out there like that but look, here at Noisey we have a 98 percent honesty policy. Kairos is the creation of Seattle based singer Lena Simon and "Dirt & Grit" is the perfect blend of tripped out, fuzzy-scuzzy psych and candied pop. If this song was an item of clothing it would be this sweet leather jacket covered in studs and painted flowers and featuring a central portrait of Malificent and Ursula. Shouts out to those evil ladies!

Meanwhile, Simon displays a newly minted swagger. Look how she nonchalantly leans on that gas pump, playing her guitar, observing the drama impassively with an occasionally curled lip.

"'Dirt & Grit' spotlights the moments of slight insanity and insecurity that derive from a crumbling relationship," says Simon. "Sometimes all you want to do is forget, and that's when the ghosts start to haunt you. Directors Zoe Rain and Jake Magraw beautifully captured these moments of darkness and their associated memories of better times."

P.S. Lena also plays bass in La Luz who you should check out STAT.

Kim Taylor Bennett wants that leather baaaad, but it was a custom job. She's on Twitter.
