Introducing Jake Hart and His First Ever Video for "That Touch"

But please don't go around stroking strangers in the street…

For someone who has spent most of my life in big cities and/or in a moshpit, you'd think I'd be used to accidental physical contact with strangers. This is not the case. In fact, I get super annoyed with any kind of random touching, accidental or otherwise, particularly on public transport. Perhaps it's just a knee jerk reaction to being groped in moshpits and encountering random boners on the subway/tube/bus. I'm not just speaking from my own experiences by the way, I'm speaking on behalf of all ladies: please keep your boners and your hands in check. Thanks.

One of the great things about Jake Hart's video for "That Touch" is how it recontextualizes the unexpected touch of a stranger. As the protagonist weaves through neon city streets, placing a hand here and there on passerbys, his movements seem balletic and beautiful, oddly comforting, and certainly not worth of a slap in the face (or a kick between the legs).

This is only Hart's second ever track. His first was "Awake," uploaded out of nowhere two months ago and already pushing 80,000 plus plays. "That Touch" is another R&B-dipped jam, slightly submerged, beats that sound sticky and slow, while the South Londoner's delicate vocals coo and creep, hypnotically spinning out the chorus till its watery end. James Blake, SOHN, and Inc. are easy alikes, but there's something in Hart's sonic whirl that's all his own.
