Stream Two Darkly Hypnotic New Songs from Rising Chicago Rapper Ign Inglor

The South Side spitter is back from hiatus and ready for takeover.

Chicago rapper Ign Inglor assembled an intoxicatingly moody sound over two acclaimed releases, 2013's New Wave and its 2014 follow-up New Wave 2, before taking a long hiatus to get sorted out. This fall he's ready for the spotlight again, with a new album arriving sometime in the fall and two brand new cuts just released this weekend. The first, "The Wildfire," produced by Arran Sym, is stark, glacial, and ambient as a Pornography-era Cure deep cut, while the second, "This Is Nothing," produced by Sym and Austin Marc, pumps guttural low end into the mix as Inglor details a deep depression that separated him from his craft, while coolly threatening to retake the rap game by seige in the weeks to come. This is one to watch, if you haven't been keeping tabs already. Stream "The Wildfire" and "This Is Nothing" below.
