Drew Owen is a young and prolific punk from Baltimore who over the last few years has churned out an amazing number of records under names Sick Thoughts, Gluebags, Chicken Chain, Deformities, and DD Owen.

This time, he’s learned some valuable lessons—such as not to trust crust punks or people in denim vests, and that he’s not actually a fan of Baltimore. “I Hate This City,” a track from his forthcoming Plane EP, is a kiss off to Charm City as he readies to move to New Orleans to get away from what he says is the city’s “boredom and monotony and scene politics.”

“Everybody says my attitude sucks but everyone is a stupid fuck”, he sneers with tongue planted somewhere near his cheek, over buzzing and hopped up punk rock.

Released on Swedish label Ken Rock the EP will be available January 1. Drew will no doubt drop some copies off at the Baltimore Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Assocation on his way out of town.

Noisey: Why are you moving to New Orleans?
Drew Owen: Baltimore sucks. All the "cool" people can have it. I hate that city. Bloodstains across Baltimore has a great ring to it but, there are about three good bands from there, and they just lost one.

You’re releasing the record on the first day of the year. How many more do you have planned for 2016?
Two Sick Thoughts seven-inches. Maybe another DD Owen seven-inch. Another Chicken Chain record and countless other stuff that may or may not happen.

Do you believe in New Year resolutions?
New Year resolutions were created by white America to make itself feel better about their nasty habits. Embrace the filth.

'Plane' is available Jan 1 through Ken Rock.
