Hot Chip Release "Go Bang," Their Beautiful Tribute to Arthur Russell

The track comes from Red Hot Organization's upcoming tribute record, featuring tracks from over 20 musicians.

The innovative work Arthur Russell—the electro-cellist-composer-everythinger—is continually proving to be some of the most influential music of the last 40 years. On October 21, Red Hot Organization will release a tribute album to the eccentric artist, featuring 26 tracks from over 20 musicians, a list that includes Sufjan Stevens, Phosphorescent, Blood Orange, Lonnie Holley, and Hot Chip. Noisey is happy to premiere the compilation's latest track, "Go Bang" from Hot Chip. The song originally was record under Russell's moniker Dinosaur L for the 1982 record 24-24 Music. Here, Hot Chip gives the track a proper tribute, filling the 11-plus minutes with a sound that feels like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever. Stream "Go Bang" below, and pre-order the compilation here.
