In the video for Modern Hut's "Mid Tempo," the boring becomes desperate and depressing, and Joe Steinhardt's all encompassing lack of affect becomes an affect in and of itself. The vibes here are flat and lowkey, and will be completely and immediately relatable if you've ever lived in a small town and hated everything because you actually just hated yourself but needed something else to hate because you couldn't afford the therapy that would allow you to admit you hated yourself.
