Here Is Tre Mission's New Video for "Runnup"

Expand your mind and prepare yourself for the world of Canadian Grime (sort of).

Tre Mission is an incredibly talented rapper from Toronto. If you just listened to his music blind, you'd probably assume he's from London, because lots of his raps are delivered in a nearly Kano-esque voice and cadence, over beats that sound more like Terror Danjah than, say, Noah "40" Shebib. Indeed, Tre's spent time and London and has serious ties to legit Grime artists, as he's appeared on Tim Westwood's show, toured and recorded with the OG of that grime shit Wiley. Still, if Tre Mission were just some Canadian Kano knockoff we wouldn't be posting his music. Instead, the guy's production melds influences from Dancehall, Grime, American hip-hop, Future Bass, Garage, and pretty much everything else under the sun, and Tre treats the Grime voice as simply a cadence, dipping into it periodically on his excellent upcoming mixtape Malmaison but never using it as a crutch or a novelty.

If you need a tl;dr on that, here you go: Tre Mission. Canadian Grime (sort of). Not a gimmick, just awesome (but still kind of weird to think about).

Stream "Runnup" below, and Malmaison drops in the middle of June.
