Here Is Guards' New Video

It'll solve all your inner guilt following that whole homeless hotspot thing.

After the wave of bad press surrounding that whole homeless hotspot thing at this year’s SXSW, we’re all scrambling for a representation of vagrancy that doesn’t leave a horrible taste in our mouths.

Enter Guards, Richie Follin’s vintage pop act. You might know Richie as a member of Willowz, or as the brother of Madeline Follin of Cults fame, but now you’ll know him for this video for “Feels Like That,” directed by Andrew Simkiss. The video, shot in one night in NYC’s Chinatown, finds Dave Rankin playing a rickety homeless Gene Kelly figure (surrounded by similarly grungy back-up dancers) doing a bit of soft-shoe to the soundtrack of Guards’ rollicking indie pop banger.

The song is the B-Side of the “Do It Again” 7-inch, released late last year on White Iris—you can pick up a physical copy right here. Also, Guards is playing a bajillion shows down in Texas this week - their full SXSW schedule is below.
