Watch Ghost Make Their Arresting American Television Debut Performing "Cirice" on Colbert

Watch for the exorcism mid-song...

It's odd that no one stateside has tapped Swedish gothic rock lords Ghost to perform on TV, since the visual aspect of their art is so striking, singular, and memorable. And yet, here we are, watching their first stateside television performance. Ghost was tapped as the musical guest for the Halloween episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and they brought it, giving hellish life to "Cirice," a highlight off their punishing third album Meliora, just released this summer. Late Show shot the performance like a schlocky old B-movie, awash in grainy, hyperdriven color and a digital filter effecting the spotty pop of worn VHS tape, while singer Papa Emeritus III maybe performs a pretend exorcism midway through the song. If you're not already sold, you never will be. Stream "Cirice" below.
