Here Is G-Unit's "Ahh Shit" Video Because Fuck Cops

You know shit's bad when 50 Cent is inspired to get political.

You know shit's bad when 50 Cent, the rapper who once applauded George W. Bush and who is known for maybe or maybe not being a Republican, is inspired to get political. And with the recent police killings of unarmed black men like Eric Garner, Michael Brown, and Ezell Ford (and those are just the ones that are getting the most attention), shit is bad.

Plenty of rappers have thrown their hats into the ring to share their thoughts in the wake of the Michael Brown killing in Ferguson, especially. Some have made songs, and a few have even been on the ground actively protesting. Still, other than Nelly, who has a local tie, many of the people speaking out—J. Cole, Killer Mike, Talib Kweli—are the type of artists who are more political to begin with.

But now G-Unit—specifically 50 Cent, Young Buck, and Kidd Kidd—are joining the outcry, and their message is pretty much one of pure rage. The song is called "Ahh Shit," and the video, above, is a bunch of shots of police beating people, brandishing absurd amounts of military gear, and, at the end, choking Staten Island resident Eric Garner to death. You should watch it not only because it's a new G-Unit song but also you should be aware of the fact that this is happening and also because fuck cops. Fuck police brutality and the reckless abuse of power. Fuck the fact that it is not only racialized but overwhelmingly so.

"They did Mike Brown like Cochise," Kidd Kidd raps at one point, and it's the truest thing Kidd Kidd has ever rapped. A group of people who are supposed to preserve and protect shouldn't be inspiring 50 Cent of all people to rap a hook that goes "now why the fuck did you call them cops?/put your hands up you still getting shot." Watch the video above, and fuck cops.
