FREE BANDS IN THE BUILDING YEAHHHH! Excuse the all caps, but we saw Future on Friday night and he's just the best most charming and goofily witty kinda-sorta-rapper-singer-guy in hip-hop. In a recent interview with Power 106, Future hinted at a shit ton of Drake collaborations on the horizon, as well as a potential mixtape with French Montana, part of which they recorded in Vegas. This is cool because both Future and French Montana are odd birds for the mainstream hip-hop world, weirdos who would have been square pegs trying to fit into round holes in the past but now guys who, thanks in part to the Internet helping collapse the public perception of the false underground/mainstream dichotomy, can now be crazy and weird and still work with whomever they want and have heat in the streets, the blogs and the dorms--truly the Holy Trinity of rap popularity.
Future, shine on you crazy diamond, just remember to take us all the way to Pluto the next time we catch you live.
