There are a scant few things we know about London troupe Jungle:1. They don't do interviews.2. They perform live with pop shields in front of the mics, shielding their faces. Mysterious, weird.3. Their sound is slyly funky. The sort of nimble, elastic grooves that sound best with a little vinyl crackle. The kind of songs you hear and immediately imagine your parents getting sweaty to it in some downtown basement in the 70s. If you're parents were cool, that is.4. And speaking of dancing, moving your body is central to Jungle's subliminal mission statement. When we caught them at their debut NYC show earlier this year the audience were full on grinding on a Sunday night. Their video for "Platoon" features the most amazing kid breakdancer and now their promo for "Time," released today, is all about a dance off between some old age pensioners.Bravo.Jungle Tour Dates:Sat. 8/2 Chicago, IL LollapaloozaFri. 9/19 Los Angeles, CA The Fonda TheatreSat. 9/20 Solana Beach, CA Belly Up TavernMon. 9/22 Phoenix, AZ The Crescent BallroomWed. 9/24 Austin, TX The MohawkThurs. 9/25 Dallas, TX Fitzgerald’sFri. 9/26 New Orleans, LA RepublicSat. 9/27 Atlanta, GA Terminal WestSun. 9/28 Nashville, TN Exit InTues. 9/30 Washington D.C.
