PREMIERE: We're Love-Stoned on Free Weed

Meet the Slacker Boyfriend of Your Dreams

Are you high yet? Because the new music video from Free Weed is an untapped strain of chill that feels like falling in love with your first bong. As the slacker pop-star persona of White Fang and The Memories frontman Rikky Gage, Free Weed is breaking the hearts of stoner girls everywhere with his dreamy riffs, boom-boom claps, and big, brown, bleary eyes. He’s basically the Big Lebowski of the L.A. weed-rock underground.

Gage also happens to head Gnar Tapes, the 420-friendly tape label that grew from a bromance with Burger Records into a legitimate storefront and venue in east Los Angeles called GnarBurger. In between touring Europe with The Memories and managing both the label and its store, Gage found a moment to release Introducing, his first LP as Free Weed, ealier this year via Bad Diet. Not bad for a bonafied career pot-head. The LP comes with a DVD, poster, and comic book by VICE's own Nick Gazin.

Watch Rikky dance around in parking lots with a drug-sniffing dog in the video for "I'm Free." Like, this dog must have sniffed all of the drugs because he is literally tripping balls.
