How come no one's ever written a festive song about getting hammered at your Christmas party and making a selection of poor decisions which leave you with an extreme sense of morning after shame, but since the song is set to a very perky melody it all seems slightly worse than it actually is. I feel like this would be a hit, no? People would be able to #relate.Well no one has done this (to my knowledge) so we often have to rely on golden oldie Crimbo tunes to increase the peace and spread the seasonal cheer, like Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree." MC Hammer would've said, "Can't touch this," but English synth-pop star FEMME doesn't give damn what Hammer thinks. (Where is he these days by the way?) She's covered this classic, called it "Rocky Around the Christmas Tree," shot a video where she's dancing around with her pals, and made sure her Xmas is the same pale pink as her hair and the baubles on the tree are gold hoops.
