Immerse Yourself in Australian Black Metal Cultist Eucharist's Unholy 'Demise Rites'

Iron Bonehead's got to be one of the most prolific labels in underground metal, especially when you take into account the variety of formats they operate in, and the number of demos they release. It was mostly by chance that I plucked Eucharist's latest out of the ever-flowing stream, but given that the combination of "Australia" and "black metal" generally tends to yield above-average results, I figured it couldn't be that bad. What I didn't reckon on was it being this good.

Eucharist paddles down the same stream first polluted by Demoncy and Archgoat, choking its pummeling black/death riffs with layers of ash, noise, and distortion and relying on a venomous rasp and creaking death rattle to convey an ultimate disregard for life. It's not ground-breaking. It's not boundary-pushing, or face-melting, or even all that original. It's just really good, and I like it a lot, and I wanted to make sure it didn't get lost in the shuffle.

That being said, stream Demise Rites in its entirety below, and look for the vinyl edition from Iron Bonehead come November 27.
