UK grime is amazing and all that, but those guys are the worst at US collaborations. They seem to cream their pants so hard about anyone outside of Bow having heard of them, that they end up doing shitty vocals with people like, I dunno, Diddy (I'M NOT POINTING ANY FINGERS SKEPTA).
That said, here's proof that it is possible to nurture the special relationship and create something cool.
So, this mix is courtesy of grime afficionado Elijah, who plays the best from his label Butterz, and DMC DJ champion Shiftee, who also heads up the Hot Mama label in the US. It's 40 minutes of urgent grime and underground rap, featuring the likes of Danny Brown, Action Bronson, JME, Preditah and Royal-T. Ooof, too much goodness.
