Stream New Zealand Soul Duo Electric Wire Hustle's Heady, Psychedelic EP 'Aeons'

The brand new EP nudges the group into something looser, weirder, and freer.

New Zealand soul duo Electric Wire Hustle, comprising singer Mara TK and producer Taay Ninh, have been pushing at the confines of modern R&B music since their late 2000s meeting led to a svelte and impossibly funky 2009 self-titled debut. The would eventually relocate to Berlin and record a sophomore album, last fall's Love Can Prevail, and they're back today with a brand new EP titled Aeons. Stretching from the the eddying, psychedelic gush of the title track through the pulsating, house-inflected soul of "Desert of the Real," the L.A. beat scene wonk of "Golden Ladder" and the slow jam ooze of "March," Aeons daringly nudges Electric Wire Hustle away from the plush, more traditional sounds of their proper albums into something looser, weirder, and freer. Stream Aeons, out today on Bastard Jazz / Loop (AUS/NZ), below and purchase here.
