Downtown Boys' New Video Makes Smashing the Police State Fun

The Providence sax punk party make smashing the police state fun.

However many punk songs exist in the world, approximately 98% of them are about cops. We get it. Fuck the police, smash the police state, blah blah blah. It's been done. And where has it gotten is? Cops are still assholes and punk is boring as ever. Enter Providence, RI's

Downtown Boys,

who are less a punk band and more of a bilingual political sax punk party. Their new video for "Slumlord Sal" takes a new approach to dealing with cops: Fight them with glittery rainbow power, turn them into the Village People, and party with them. Now, we don't necessarily advise this, as you'll probably just end up arrested and on YouTube under the title, "Idiot punk kid gets shit beat out of him by cop LOL" but if you do, let us know how it goes.

What we do advise though is picking up Downtown Boys' new record right here, listen to it below, and stop taking your political punk rock so goddamn seriously. Or take it seriously, but have fun.
