We don't really post "tour news" that often, because most tours are exactly what you'd expect—Band A takes Band B and Band C along with them in a van to a bunch of cities over a bunch of weeks and then somebody gets an STD and at least one member of one band quits. Still, sometimes something comes across your radar that's just so unbelievable that you have to write something about it.
Never not one to do something funny and stupid just for the hell of it, Diplo just announced he'll be conducting a tour by pretty much every outmoded form of transportation at the end of this month, as he'll be performing in four different cities along the East Coast in one day while traveling from venue to venue in a helicopter, and then jumping on a sailboat the next day where he'll travel from city to city in the Caribbean with Major Lazer. This is pretty much the Rihanna Plane Redux, except they trimmed all the fat and this actually sounds like it'll go off without a hitch and be fun as shit for everyone involved. It is the official editorial stance of Noisey that we want Diplo's job.
The helicopter tour is called the "Trap Hawk Down" tour, and the Major Lazer Caribbean Sailboat endeavor will be entitled, "Mutiny Aboard The Molly Roger." Dates/times for the shows are below:
