PREMIERE: Listen to Dead Heavens, Featuring Walter Schreifels, Cover Can's "I'm So Green"

Gorilla Biscuits, Quicksand, Rival Schools, CIV and more vs. the legendary Can.

One of the biggest keys to a musician's longevity is consistency. Consistency is kind of tricky in this case; because it can often be confused with putting out the same thing over and over. Instead, a musician or band should strive and push to make music that is as challenging, interesting, and enjoyable from project to project. It's what builds fanbases over musicians, and keeps everyone on their toes at all time to see what the musician will do next. One of the absolute best examples of this is Walter Schreifels, whose past work includes everything from Quicksand to Rival Schools, to the legendary Gorilla Biscuits. Adding onto that list of greats is his new band Dead Heavens.

Dead Heavens is a band from New York City that plays chunky and intense rock music. The band has just released a cover of another legendary band, Can, and their song "I'm So Green." Looking at what Can has done in their career and all the different textures and effects used to push out their music, Dead Heavens' take on the track is a poignant one. The psychedelic and trippy flavors of the original are translated into a solidified thump from Dead Heavens. It sounds like a culmination of all past projects into a refined sound of rock that isn't afraid to be heavy and poppy all at the same damn time.
