Crystal Castles: “Affection”

The Toronto duo release another taste of their third album.

I’m not sure if it’s because I’m lying in bed, on Halloween evening, alone. But, as I listen to the sheets of rain pile down outside, Alice Glass’ ethereal warbling through a tin-can-on-a-string vocals sound like the epitome of loneliness. Oh, and it’s also sexy as fuck. Issues? What issues!

“Affection” is yet another cut to be dropped from the duo's much hyped forthcoming third record. The track itself goes heavy on the melancholia, with remnants of their previous work manifesting itself, but this time they've gone a LOT heavier on the dreamy and ambient production. Maybe these guys are mellowing?
