Attention Metalheads—Rites of Thy Degringolade Will Reunite at The Covenant Festival This Summer!

The past few years have borne witness to an absolute explosion of quality small-scale North American metal festivals. Of course, Maryland Deathfest is still the American Wacken, but metalheads in the United States, Canada, and Mexico can now also look forward to events like Wings of Metal (who are bringing Angel Witch to North America for the first time in over a decade!), Martyrdoom, D-Fest, and now, Vancouver's getting in on the action with an insanely stacked multi-day fest called The Covenant.

As co-organizer Sebastian Montesi of Auroch and Mitochondrion noted, "It is high time that something of this nature happens in Vancouver. We're ecstatic to bring this event together as a full scale evolution from our inner circle's infamous vinyl nights. Everything from the art, to the organization, to the finely curated selection of bands has been done in-house. We plan to build a yearly tradition of housing the harshest black/death metal and finest neofolk/dark ambient we can offer."

This year's lineup includes a performance from cult Canadian extreme metal innovators Rites of Thy Degringolade—their first in over a decade—as well as appearances from some of the underground's most compelling talents. The event will bring together black metal, death metal, heavy metal, folk, and ritual ambient, and will take place June 11th-13th in Vancouver, BC.
