Coil Give Nine Inch Nails A Creepy Makeover on the Unreleased 'Recoiled' LP

Coil + NIN = Shivers

Why are there so many goddamn biters? I love American Horror Story as much as the next guy, but its pretty clear that the opening sequence for the show is a copy of a rip-off of a facsimile of the starting credits from the film Seven. That eerie, sepia-heavy opening sequence depicting the seven deadly sins set a tone for the entire film (fucking creepy), and you can thank one band for the off-putting, shiver-inducing soundtrack, Coil.

Or rather thank two. Coil (RIP) was responsible for the remix of the Nine Inch Nails track "Closer" that blesses the opening credits, one of several remixes that the experimental/industrial band did for Trent Reznor. Many of the tracks never commercially saw the light of day, and were banished to the seediest of bittorrent threads and Megaupload/Mediafire links. That all changes on February 24th, when Recoiled is released into the wild.

Recoiled compiles all of the Coil remixes done for Nine Inch Nails into a single CD/LP/digital release for Cold Spring Records. Stream the Coil remix to "Closer" below.

ICYMI, we recently shot guns with Drew McDowall.
