Pop Lots of Downers And Listen To The New Burnt Skull LP

Not recommended for the anxiety-prone or fans of picnics, sunshine, or kittens.

Austin duo Burnt Skull need a Xanax, or maybe a giant bottle of them. The band, which features members of Best Fwends, Total Abuse and more, take the imprint laid by Amphetamine Reptile's harshest works to their logical extreme, making punishing noise punk in the vein of favorites like Brainbombs, early Today is the Day or Albini's more violent projects. The band's latest LP Sewer Birth contains quite possibly some of the most destructive noise rock available, using metallic guitar tones and harshly-processed vocals that make Steve Austin's voice seem like birdsong.
