Fireworks have become one of our civilization's most prevalent music video tropes, deployed by Urban Outfitters types trotting around fields with sparklers to signify the untamable creative spirit or something. Georgia-based trio Bambara flip the script in their new video for "Dreamviolence," subjecting themselves to a bottle rocket assault with inflammatory consequences. It's basically the inverse of Katy Perry's "Firework." You could say the same about the song, whose ambient sludge ripples with submerged drones and echoes of distant industrial movement. Bambara's album, also titled Dreamviolence, drops today on Arrowhawk Records, and you catch them live at Shea Stadium on May 4th.
