So, Aaron Cohen is a New York by way of Seattle MC, who's been floating around the blogosphere after garnering attention from his A$AP Ty produced track "Feminist", supported by the ever prolific people over at Mishka. While I haven't exactly been losing my shit over the beats, I've kept my eye on Cohen 'cos my ovaries can't help but explode listening to him lacing his verses with an acerbic and at times satisfyingly mean helping of dry Jewish humour.Case and point, this brilliant cut "Mess With Us" is a triumph of lulz lyrics. Cohen rants against the establishment over this sparse and plodding beat, with lines like:"What, I need Pitchfork to tell me how dope I am?/ Like I need accountants to tell me how broke I am."Of course not babe, but Noisey loves ya if that counts for anything.
