Weirdo Scottish Electronicist Rudi Zygadlo Drops "Slow Carz" on Mad Decent

Why is letting go so effing hard?

It feels like a million years since we heard from Rudi Zygadlo, musically—actually it was April 2014, but anyway—last week we did run into the charming avant-electronicist at SXSW. He wasn't performing or anything, nope, the London-based Scottish dude was just in Austin for a vacation. See? Mental. Who goes to SXSW for a holiday. Anyway, we caught up with him during one of Sophie's 243 SXSW sets and he mentioned that he was dropping a single on Mad Decent (previously he'd released a couple of stellar records on Planet Mu). And lo! Here it is! A marvelously sensitive banger—yes, really, it's euphoric but also lushly melancholy. It's clearly about a relationship that's fucked, but you keep coming back when you're at the brink because, of course that's the moment when emotions are heightened by imminent loss. Why is letting go so hard?

Kim Taylor Bennett can't let go. She'll be listening to Rudi's record Tragicomedies for the rest of the day. She's on Twitter.
