La Luz Drop Their Awks-Amazing Video "You Disappear"

Drums like a stampede of ponies, reverb like the freakiest surf party you've ever attended, girl harmonies that swaddle and surround you like the best hug you've ever, ever received. You know the kind of hug where you want to be squeezed to death and your hugging partner whispers in you ear: "Not close enough."

Anyway, the Seattle-based girl crew—who we proclaimed our love for last year during Noisey's Made In America series—are back and ever-so public access TV on in their lo-fi video for "You Disappear," premiering below. Hey Shana, can we talk about those pants?

NEED.

"The inspiration for the video came from watching a lot of public access performances of our favorite bands and the bygone practice of compiling those performances onto worn out VHS tapes to pass along to buddies," explains director Carlos Lopez of his vision. "The show we invented for the video is perhaps not run by the most seasoned or professional crew, and whoever is the control booth just wants to go crazy with the green screen effects. We also wanted to make a section of the video 3D as a bonus for those with the 3D glasses that come with every copy of the album."

Naturally the girls wanted to weight in too: "Live bands on low budget cable access shows are one of my favorite things. With this video we were trying to get at that awkward cable mystery. (Check out Suburban Lawns playing Janitor, the host is wearing a raincoat!!) Our new album comes with a 3D poster and glasses and Carlos had the idea to include a 3D scene in the video to tie it all together."
